Rachakonda Fort - Best Trekking spot in Hyderabad around 100 kms

Getting away to touristry places is becoming a thing in the past. Covid celebrated its first birthday in India, and we are getting used to live with it. Travel and Tourism is hit hard by the pandemic. Travelling by Train and Flights are frightening, and because of that an escape from the routine city life for joy is becoming toil.  

One day trips in own vehicle to less touristry places are the best thing to satisfy the travel cravings for the time being. And you must add this to your list to visit in Hyderabad if you haven't already. It will be loved by Nature lovers and History buffs alike.

 Rachakonda Fort is in Yadadri Bhongir district of Telangana, and approximate distance from Hyderabad is 65 kms. Visiting this place in monsoon, is quite a vibe. When I first visited Rachakonda village, it was all drizzling and had a feeling that I am in some kind of mountaineous zone. In summer the place will be hot, but you can catch better sunrise and sunset. 

Rachakonda Fort is constructed in 14th century by Singama Nayaka. Construction of this Fort is very interesting. No mortar was used. Rocks were fitted roughly and balanced. It is built in cyclopean masonry. 

This trek can be completed in 1-1.30 hours. Only thing you should keep in mind is carry water and some snacks, as there are no food stalls up above the fort, and also in the surrounding region.
